Prior to starting Seneca Cycle Works, I worked for the esteemed custom bicycle maker Independent Fabrication. I am pleased to announce that I have once again begun working for IF, in its 20th year of business, no less. I now serve as the principle frame designer at IF, mostly working from my home workshop here in southern VT.
What does this mean for Seneca? Not much will change. My lead times might creep out a bit longer, but I will continue to design and build my own bicycles under the Seneca Cycle Works banner. I'm in this for the long haul, and couldn't be happier about this new arrangement with IF.
While IF has made a name for itself over the past 20 years building some of the finest custom bicycles in steel, titanium, stainless steel and carbon fiber, I am enjoying the freedoms associated with running my own business when it comes to frame design and manufacture. None of that will change, and if anything, this new opportunity will afford me even more room to experiment and push the limits of what I can achieve in designing custom bicycles for individual riders. Exciting times ahead!
Stay tuned for further updates from the new shop in Putney, along with workshop pics and some sweet new bikes in progress.
