Phoenix Bikes is an excellent organization in Arlington, VA that strives to educate youth, promote bicycling, and build community. I am proud to have served as an employee there several years ago, and I will always have a special fondness for the organization and all the people involved (youth and adults alike!).
It was an honor, then, to be asked to build a bicycle for the fine folks at Phoenix. A generous donor came up with the idea and helped offset the costs and I provided the labor, and the result is a sharp yellow 3-speed that will be auctioned off at the upcoming Makers' Ball! Though not exactly the same bike, I made something very similar before and wrote about it here.
So, if you live in the Washington, D.C. area, make sure you check out the Phoenix Bikes Makers' Ball on April 21st!
